Crazy Rich Asians

Embarrassed to say that ever since I first heard of this book, I kind of wrote it off as being ridiculous fluff that I would absolutely not be interested in. Bad Allie, judging books by their covers. I REALLY enjoyed this, loved all the descriptions of food and houses and clothes and jewelry, and am here for family drama. It was perfect escapism. I'm already on the hold list for the sequel.

(I was hoping to finish the book before I saw the movie, but I'm one day late. Gotta say, seeing the gowns and houses and beautiful people was even more awesome after reading about them.)
