I enjoyed this book but it was a little lackluster. My favorite part of all of it was the writing style; I thought it was relatable, smooth, funny, and interesting. I like Jade for this reason, and I like Kett because he's dry and funny (to me at least). However, the plot was a bit meh. I don't fully understand what Jade can do with her trinkets and how she made them protective shields or something without knowing. How did she not feel the magic coming off her creations? Also, how did Jade not know how powerful Sienna is? All book she was talking about how her and Sienna's magic is so weak, yet Jade was never able to sense her sister's growing power as she stole it from other people? That doesn't make sense. This was an interesting and easy read, but I do not see myself continuing the series at this time. Maybe in the future I'll revisit it.
