Cursed to Be Mine

There were lots of scenes with fantastic and gruesome imagery, but the language, while appropriate for the time where the story is set, made the reading experience seem so much more ponderous than it actually was, and I struggled to connect with the events and characters in the book because of it. Still, it was a pretty solid story, and it had some really anxiogenic moments.
