When Ella Fields told me this book was her tamest, that it wouldn't break my heart, I foolishly believe her. I'm a stupid stupid person. This book, just like all of the others, hit me right in the feels. This is a very raw and beautiful love story.

I love that these weren't your typical sweetness and light romance characters. They were real and they had grit. They made mistakes and they owned them.
On the outside Vera seems like an unlikeable character, but, once you get a tiny glimpse into her heart and her upbringing you can't help but fall in love with her. My heart broke on more than one occasion. I wanted to shake her, without a doubt, at times and just tell her to stop, but, I think that just made her HEA all the sweeter for how hard earned it was. Now, that's not me saying that Jared was just okay, man, Jared is swoonfest material- if you liked him in Frayed Silk, you will fall madly in love with him in this book. He was all the things - including an arsehole, and he was so mean with it, but, I knew why he was acting that way and he made up for it once he knew the truth. So we can forgive him.
Their chemistry is off the charts smoking hot. I loved their banter too, the pet names were perfect for them. Their HEA wasn't handed to them, it wasn't easy. They both made mistakes and learned from it. It was really beautiful to experience. Those library scenes gutted me - for two completely different reasons. Want to know more?
