2.5 stars. This one really fell short for me, as I was in the mood for Hannon's trademark edge-of-your-seat suspense. Instead, it's very heavy on the romance part, almost to the point of being the main focus of the book: attraction plus some suspense and danger to bring them together. It felt confusing with how quickly it jumped from “Wow, you are attractive” to “bad guy POV” and back. And several times I felt that I was being specifically led to thinking certain things about characters, rather than getting the chance to form my own opinions about some of the characters' actions, if that makes sense. I also felt that some of the details of the bad guy's life went almost too far into details about his bar habits and womanizing habits, skating the edge very closely. (It does show about him climbing into bed with a one-night stand, and talks of how he wants to “go another round” with her.)
All in all, an interesting romantic read with some suspense. A specific final twist fell rather flat for me, and it was necessary to backtrack quite a bit during reading to make sense of certain actions and motivations. If I hadn't had it for review, I would quite likely not have finished even in the two weeks (!) it took me to read it.
