Dear Mr. Rosenwald

Julius Rosenwald, president of Sears, Roebuck and Co., heard about the role education played in the life of Booker T. Washington, and he decided to donate money to build schools for black children all across the South. This story depicts the building of one of these schools told from the point of view of one of the children.
