Thank you to the author for sending me an eARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I read the first book in this series last year and absolutely loved it. Since then I have been lucky enough to continue on with the series and participate in blog tours for each of the books. While I haven't loved any of them as much as I loved the first one I am continuously drawn into the story because the authors world building is on another level in my opinion. You would think how hard could it possibly be to create Hell but his take on it is so imaginative and I love it. Not only do we get Hell but we also get Paradise, The Garden of Eden, Purgatory and so much more.

Because this is a review for the fifth book in this series there will be potential spoilers ahead so if you haven't read this series yet you might want to skip this review.

This book takes place a year and a half after the events of the previous book. Philip has been struggling because he can't talk to anyone about what has happened to him previously so he feels lonely and he's acting out. In the previous book we are told that Philip will not be able to go back to Hell but surprise he ends up back in Hell but this time it's because of the Almighty himself.

As I mentioned in previous reviews in this series things get darker with each book and that is still definitely the case in this book. Philip is not longer the goody goody he was when we first met him. While I am still really into this story and really want to read the next book I didn't love this one as much as previous ones.

Each of the books have been pretty action packed and we always new what they were trying to figure out. In this book things were slower. Not the pace I still flew through this book but it just didn't seem like a whole lot was happening even though there was and I am left with so many unanswered questions which I assume will be answered in the next book but it's a little frustrating because there are several things left unresolved.

Also while the ending of this was good and done really well I can't help but be disappointed because of how it ends. I don't want to say why because it's a huge spoiler but if you've read this maybe you know my issue with it. Like I said I'm still really enjoying it but I wish the author would have gone a different route. It's personal preference and I know a lot of people will love how it ends and I get it I do but not me.
