Diary of a Rich Kid

How can I say this... well the book was I guess a bit childish for my taste even tho I enjoy Middle-Grade books and graphic novels like Big Nate and Diary Of A Wimpy Kid. This book was inspired I can say by Diary of a wimpy kid but it clearly is different. The main character, Robin is Malaysian which I liked and he was from a super-rich family. Basically he was in a super expensive private school where only super-rich kids went. He has two best friends Charlie and Ken. Charlie is a very snobbish, selfish, and overdramatic kid which really annoyed me. He made his mom remarrying such a big deal and made all little stuff be such a BIG deal... It was good that Robin knew that and he was annoyed by it too, he was not as selfish as him... Then comes Ken the only sane one from the group. The rich kids think of him as poor but actually he is of a higher middle class I would say. So still richer than most people in the world (including me). He was smart and kind which I liked. But the book was to cliche and predictable. It seemed to me that the author just had this idea of “hey what if the main characters are super-rich and go in a vocation in the Bahamas where there are sharks and worms who destroy their luxurious lives?!”I mean I didn't like it that much... Just when they first mentioned that they will go to the Bahamas and said there are sharks I knew there will be shark attacks and to felt too generic and childish. Actually, I looked at data, and shark attacks in the Bahamas are soooo rare... Anyways this was just the imagination of the author so... I'd say kids age 10 to 12 may enjoy this but clearly not for older peeps like me (I'm a high schooler, btw). Anyways, good first try, I guess?! And the illustrations were nice but the outfits seemed too basic for supposed super-rich peeps and Alibaba's name was just so stereotypical.
