Not a fan of this cover. It's not a very good representation of the story. The couple on this cover could not look LESS royal if they tried! lol
This one was OK for me. Maybe slightly more than OK. I think part of the fault lies with me. I thought this could be read as a standalone, but the couple featured are already in love and married. I felt a bit like I was dropped into the middle of a story. I have not (yet) read book one and two (I did read book three), but I am guessing the whole “meeting and falling in love” thing took place in one of those books. Therefore it would be my recommendation to read those two books before you tackle this one.
That issue aside I found this one a little on the dull side. It was mostly political stuff (that bored me) and sex (smokin' hot) with a blast from Ava's past (somewhat interesting). The combo of all three kind of made the pacing all over the place for me. It dragged through the political parts. The sex was hot. The stuff about Ava's past was intriguing (if a little underdeveloped IMO). So ya, I don't know, I liked it. I finished it. I wasn't left feeling like I wasted the couple hours I spent reading it, but it isn't something I will remember much about in a months time.
