3.5 stars. A predictable twist and it took a long time for the characters to get likable.
Well-written and often humorous novel that will appeal to fans of Nick Hornby and Jonathan Tropper. The protagonist veers a little too far towards one side in the delicate “lovable asshole” balance but acquits himself admirably at the end.
