Every time I start a Heather Lyn book I think to myself that this is the one that won't break me. But, then I break. Her words are so emotionally driven that it's hard for me not to connect to the story and characters. They hurt and I hurt with them, but what I'm always guaranteed is a fantastic payout. And this book was no different. Nacole and Garret are everything. Their story is everything. It was heartbreaking and beautiful. My heart bled for Nacole and what she'd been through - was it easy to read, no, it was truly heartbreaking, but it's also something that is happening every day somewhere and that just makes it all the more sad, but ultimately her story had a happy ending and that made the difficult parts worth it. The way Heather incorporated her past into the present was perfection and made it easier to read too. Garret, swoon. Nacole calls him a Book Boyfriend and I have to agree. He's the tough sexy cop that has a sweetness to him. I adored the cameos from Heather's characters from different books....it's always good to have a little catch up with your favourite book people. That being said it is a standalone and their story is complete. This book was just what I needed.
