This is definitely more of a simplified “do this, don't do this” manual for bullet journaling than Ryder Carroll's Bullet Journal Method. While Ryder's book is much more about his process for overcoming issues with ADHD by writing things down, Dot Journaling was written after the trend of Bullet Journaling was well underway so it addresses the “pretty planning” phenomenon and how to find a balance, not to get too overwhelmed by all the Pinterest and Instagram images. It was a very quick read. I'd recommend it if you want more of a how-to to Bullet Journal. I'd still recommend Bullet Journal Method for a why you might want to do it.
