Why?

‘She's the prettiest girl at Miss. Preston's and I figure that's as good a reason as any to hate her.'

Admittedly, there are other reasons - like the fact that I find Jane insufferable in general and that for a zombie book it is...really boring - but, in all honesty, I was 99% certain when I heard that statement at the 2% mark that I would not be finishing this book.
