This books explains the four month journey of the Scottish Nepal Expedition in 1952, (I think - it is a bit vague with the year - although has plenty of information about the month!) told by the expedition leader, Tom Weir.
Amusingly written is covers all aspects, starting us off with some complications with Customs in India, a short time in Kathmandu (sorry, can't spell it without the H) and then to the mountains.
The aim of this expedition was to further explore a shear walled canyon named Rolwaling, which had been seen (and named) by the 1950 expedition of Shipton, Ward, Murray, Bourdillon, Riddiford and Hillary, while they were exploring about looking for the Abominable Snowman!
As well as exploring this valley, the expedition summited various mountains in the area, and traversed the Tesi Lapcha pass.
As well as the mountaineering, we are also provided with the details of the porters, Sherpa, monks and village people they meet, the many birds they witness and the spectacular scenery.
There are also a number of photographs, which are all pretty good.

Three and a half stars - rounded down to three.
