This was my first time reading a book by this author and I have to say it won't be the last!
Thoroughly enjoyed it, so much so that I stayed up really late to finish it because I was hooked!
It was well written and easy to follow. I loved the Detectives Jerry Bourque and Lois Delgado. There were a lot of characters in the book, but yeah, the two detectives were my favourites.
I was conflicted about Richard Headley, on the one hand I really disliked the way he treated Glover (his son), but on the other, I felt a little sorry for him re the relationship he'd had with his father and also the way the media were baying for his blood...I mean, no matter what he decided about the elevators (letting New Yorkers continue using them or shutting them down) he couldn't win!
Talking of Glover, I really felt sorry for him. It was like no matter what he did, he could never win with his Dad. Was hardly surprising that it eroded his self-esteem!
I really enjoyed the book, but the political undertones may mean that the book isn't for everyone!
