If you haven't heard me before, hear me now. I LOVE these 10x10” storybook treasuries! My girls love them, they're wonderful and fabulous and I hope many more will come. This Fancy Nancy one is full of great stories taken both from a couple 8x8” paperbacks as well as some I Can Read! Level 1 early readers. Just enough to send a kiddo to bed with or take on a trip, or just for fun during quiet reading time one day. My current early reader loves to look through it and work on her skills and my younger toddler loves to sit and just imagine the story she tells to herself through the photos. These storybook treasuries are made very well with the thick hardcover and thick pages and will last much longer than the paperbacks the stories come from. I'm delighted with it and definitely want to look for more! I love these storybook treasuries! I love these 10x10” treasuries (look awesome on the shelf). I love Fancy Nancy! Also I absolutely love having early readers for my desperate to read K4. So this is a fabulous book! In general these treasuries are great to tag along to naptime or a car trip. This one has a good handful of bedtime appropriate stories. One book I assume to be originally an 8x8” paperback and the rest I Can Read! Level 1 early readers. This book has a couple elements on top of the typical fabulous Fancy Nancy glossary including choices, independence, uniqueness, friendship, uncertainty, slight jealousy, problem solving, friendship and fun all wrapped up in one. Also included in the Fancy Nancy Storybook Treasury.[bc:Fancy Nancy: Sees Stars 3340980 Fancy Nancy Sees Stars Jane O'Connor https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1348460064s/3340980.jpg 3379259]Love it. I'm sure it doesn't help that a brand new cupcakery just opened up in town... No matter what this was a great read for us. Nancy is participating with her class in a bake sale and learning the importance of good listening skills. While I'm more of the mind that French, the poodle, was the one with dismal behavior (dismal is a fancy word for extremely bad :) ) it is true that Nancy was not listening, but I bet she will next time! Getting to know others and benefits - like Chester's Way by Kevin Henkes.[bc:Fancy Nancy: The Dazzling Book Report 3808135 Fancy Nancy The Dazzling Book Report Jane O'Connor https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1352204447s/3808135.jpg 3852342]This may be one of my favorite of the Fancy Nancy early readers. The ones I love are the ones which go a step further not just in entertainment, but in educational value as well and this one does just that. Join Nancy and her class as they go to the library and then work on a book report. Of course Nancy's folder to hold her book report needs to be fancy and time seems to slip away for the actual report part. What I love about this is that the knowledge is there and Nancy's teacher is able to encourage Nancy to participate and share the information in an oral manner and didn't just penalize her for getting distracted on the visual. I think this could be followed with a discussion of following directions on a future assignment. Yet at the same time perhaps Nancy's learning style is to absorb the information as she is preparing and arranging her art. Learning is the ultimate goal and I love how this book portrays that!
