Faster, Higher, Farther The Volkswagen Scandal

I picked this book up hoping to get an answer for how Volkswagen got to the point where they thought cheating on their emissions test would be a good idea. The answer is “an overconstrained system without a solution that upper management really wanted to work anyway.” Now you don't have to read it, you're welcome! But that happens in like chapter 12 or something, after a big long rant about the history of Volkswagen which goes on interminably.
