Just wrote my review and it disappeared. I hate that. Here we go again.
Normally when I write a review about a book like this the first that I would tell you is that this is not my genre. Mostly I find myself in Christian Historical Fiction, however from time to time I do enjoy a good adventure. I would not really call this book an adventure, however it is romantic suspense. I was completely captivated from page one. Contemporary is not a place I often call home, and this is scary and gritty and real, but the characters grabbed me and wouldn't let me go. I highly recommend this read and definitely would not hesitate to read more from Irene Hannon in the future.

While this is not my favorite Irene Hannon book, I still enjoyed the mystery. I didn't like the focus; I don't like reading about that much political stuff. I didn't like it that the heroine was so excited to think of planning a kiss and a relationship with a man who was not putting God first in his life. It didn't seem like Jake was the shining example of a hero that I usually like to see, though he did come riding to the rescue by protecting her. Also, it seems like she does really, really well for four days without water. Something truly did not add up there. All in all, a fun read but not a favorite.
