Fighting for Us

I love so much about this series already - the writing, the small town, the close knit families, the brothers and Gram, the feud, etc. - but 2 things annoyed me about this book.

1 - it was way too long, romance books simply shouldn't be 450+ pages. I understand there is more than just romance in this and I appreciate the wider story but it did start to feel dragged out in parts.

2 - it used the “I love you SO much I'm going to break up with you for your own good” trope and I HATE it! Yes I get why, he had demons and thought he was protecting her and blah, and yes the grovel was good but still, I just hate this trope and rolled my eyes at it. If you love her so much, grow a pair, talk through your shit with her and a therapist and BE TOGETHER! God.
