Four: The Initiate by Veronica Roth

The Initiate provides readers with a glimpse into Tobias's Dauntless initiation experience, including an epic game of late-night Dare; his first tattoo; the beginning of his passion for training new initiates; and his nascent understanding of the danger of being Divergent.

We see some of Four's training. I wish there was a full length prequel about Four.

I read it with great interest. I wanted to see what it looked like from Four's side. He is my favorite character because he is true to himself. He can't be deceived by anyone or tricked into believing something what is . This is a real and honest character, who lives by his own rules.

I kind of wish they were all one book. Oh well. On to the next one!

Needed something short and easy in order to meet my book goal for 2014...went through my Nook and this was sitting there waiting (forgot that I'd pre-ordered it way back when). Four is by far my favorite character in DiverentLand, so to learn more about his background and see that world through his eyes is fantastic. With this second prequel, we get to learn a little more about some of the other Dauntless - Zeke and Shauna mostly but others make appearances. Enjoyable, fast, and sticks to character.
