Yesterday, I finished “Furiously Happy” By Jenny Lawson. Jenny Lawson is a writer and an online blogger, who I have never heard of before deciding to read this book. So, I went into reading this without any pre-conceived notions. The book is mostly a humorous look at Jenny's experiences with mental illness -She suffers with depression and anxiety, along with some other issues. Rather than being in chronological order, each chapter is written like a collection of anecdotes or essays, so I guess you can say that it is a little like a blog-but in book form. I found the book to be rather scattered and over the top in describing the various circumstances that occurred and I did wonder whether the author was trying to make the situations sound more barmy than it was. The strange thing is, that it worked for me. I found the book quite enjoyable and an easy and fun read, and I managed to finish it within 2 days. This is rather good for me, when you consider that I just got out of a reading slump!
