Glamour: Contemporary Fairytale Retellings

2017 • 480 pages

I like this cover. It's pretty simple but works well with the overall theme of the book. It has good composition and some unique and eye catching typography.

A collection of eight exclusive never-before-seen novellas that take the fairytales of our youth and spin them into somthing new...

The Music Box Girl By Sierra Simone – 2 Stars
Holy Sh!t was this one hot! Well written and nicely paced, No OW/OM drama, but it isn't safe if you have a problem with the hero having a gang bang with 11 OW plus the heroine. Everyone was on board with it though, so c'est la vie I guess. That said, I was OK with it being a one-time thing, but when I read he continued to fuck all of them for two more months I lost the positive feelings I had for the story.

Bedtime Story By Skye Warren – 3.5 Stars
I enjoyed this one. It was sweet with no OW/OM drama or angst. As well as no sex. It ended a bit abruptly though. This couple was introduced in THE KING by this author, so maybe we will get a full-length book about them at some point.

Ripples By Aleatha Romig – 4.5 Stars
I LOVED this one. Well written and paced. It was dark and twisted and sexy. No OW/OM drama. My only complaint is I wish it had been a full-length book.

Royal Mattress By Nicole Rendell – 4.5 Stars
Another great addition to this collection. This one was super cute and funny. I LOVED grandma. It was well written and paced. Now OW/OM drama. A couple of hot sex scenes and two very likable main characters. But again my only complaint is it ended rather abruptly, and I wanted to read more about this couple.

In A Stranger's Bed By Sophia Jordan – 5 Stars
This one was my favorite of the group. Well written. Smokin hot. Two likable characters. No OW/OM drama, though the hero has a dead wife and child, but not too much is said about that. AND it even has an epilogue.

Broken Harp By Nora Flite – 3 Stars
This one was OK. I enjoyed the writing, and the plot was interesting, but I found it all a little underdeveloped. Especially with the hero and things were wrapped up a bit too conveniently.

Red Hot Pursuit By AL Jackson – 5 Stars
This was my second favorite of the collection. Well written and paced. No OW/OM drama. A nice bit of angst. Some good back and forth dialogue. Some hot sex scenes and two very likable main characters.

Knot By Lili St Germain – 4.5 Stars
Another fantastic read. This one was gritty and twisted. It basically was just an introduction to an upcoming series which I most definitely will be checking out.
