I just finished Good Dog Bad cop and here is my review.
Simon Garfunkel does all the heavy lifting and he knows it... Don't all dogs feel that way? His partner Corey and himself, retired from the K-9 unit and are private investigators along with Laurie and Marcus. The police department they used to work for pays them to solve cold cases and this cold case is personal. Corey is going to prove his mentor, Jimmy, didn't kill another dead cop's wife and himself on his boat. He doesn't believe the rumors that it was an affair... He knows something is amiss and he is going to prove it even if he is risking his life to do it.
This book is part of a series I haven't read before but, the book is so well written that I don't feel it was necessary to have read the other books to enjoy this one.
I am a real sucker for dogs so having a dog as a hero in this one, it was already on a winning streak. I felt, even though the series is established, the character development was decent and I didn't feel like I had missed a thing. Loved the storyline. It was pretty clever the way it was done and it didn't feel unrealistic either.
Setting was great. I kinda enjoyed being a private Investigator! The language was simple and the whole book came together quite well! I am actually going to go back and get the rest of the series now.
If you like a clever mystery with a little humor, then this series has to go on your list!
