First off, 5 stars for Josh having a spine of steel. WHAT A BEAUTY TO BEHOLD!!!

Sometimes you rate a book 5 stars because it's unputdownable from start to finish. This is not one of those times.

Sure, the book WAS a good read. But that scene is what pushed it into the stratosphere for me.

Knowing that some of my favorite MCs across multiple books, in that situation, would have retreated for quite a significant time to lick their wounds, mired in self pity(in many books this would have been the third act break up) (in others, this would be the foundation for the offending MC to showcase his ~sometimes epic, sometimes dismal~ groveling abilities)

For Joshua (full of insecurity and self-doubt) to go DEMAND the treatment he deserves? I fuck with it. Heavy.

“Nobody gets to throw me away, he'd said. But that's exactly what I'd tried to do, without realizing how he'd take it. “

What do you mean without realizing? How ELSE could Josh have taken it? The Audacity according to Saint Caleb. How else is there to take the love of your life saying he's leaving you to marry someone else?

The way I cheered out loud when Josh stood up for himself. I was delirious with happiness
