DNF.
After 300+ pages, I just felt like I was slogging, forcing myself to reach the end. I finally admitted that I needed to cut bait.
The story started off with promise that it would tell the story of the King Arthur legend from the perspective of the Lady of Shalott (which I continue to write as “shallot” —don't judge). Solid premise. But the hand wringing about the decisions made or unmade for 100s of pages just made me dread picking it up everyday to continue to read. I know this isn't going to end well and there isn't even a sliver of hope left.
I'm not a rose-colored glasses person usually but I feel like there needs to be some joy in Camelot.
