This follows on directly from the end of season 2 of the TV series, with Gordon in hot pursuit of the runaway lovebirds. From there, they head on a road trip which sees them face multiple heroes and villains from the DC Universe (some of them not previously seen on the TV series) and eventually face down a threat from a villain unique to the comic. It manages to capture the fun of the series, with over-the-top action, innuendo, and poking fun at established DC tropes. There's also really quite a lot of LGBT romance and the humour is offset by Ivy facing her inner demons and questioning what she really deserves.

Is it quite as good as the TV series? Probably not, and the violence is toned down, which might disappoint some. Many of the regulars are present as no more than cameos, or absent altogether, and, sure, you've got to be ready for the high level of romance elements. But it's a decent interlude to take us from one season to the next and does seem to fit rather neatly into the gap.
