The St. Nicholas church in Prague that has a baroque, medieval style sounds really lovely.
It's sad that Isabella & Antonin's relationshp was severed by his unexpected death due to some of the stones in the bell tower that fell onto Antonin and sadly killed him, but there's not much informaton about what happened to Isabella.
How did Isabella die? What happened to Isabella after her fiance died accidentally?
Isabella is a mournful, potentially a vengeful spirit, due to her understandable grief and pain, it's sad that human spirits still linger and suffer in the afterlife, she has the right to move on and to be happy.
For the Lucedio Abbey haunting the author originally described the sighting of a specific monk at the abbey as a entity but then he keeps referring to the entity as a vengeful spirit (a human spirit that is a vengeful spirit and a entity are not the same thing)
A entity is not human, they can be a shapeshifter, or take the form of a animal or a human-animal hybrid.
There are otherworldly beings that can be potentially harmful in various contexts, they can be powerful, hard to banish especially if they are attachd to a person.
It's just a pet peeve of mine for the author to label a being as a entity and as a vengeful spirit when they are not the same thing.
It can't be both, it's one or the other.
The 1000 year old church was really interesting to read about, I liked the creepy descriptions of the creepy encounters people had in crypts, vaults, catacombs when they encountered inexplicable apparitions of spirits, entities, vengeful spirits and potentially harmful spirits that had the intention to physically harm the living.
It's really sad that there were various spirits that suffered a lot while they were alive and there is no closure or relief for them in the afterlife as well due to the spirit of their abusive family members. The mournful, vengeful spirits need help to move on and to be happy.
I like Lee Brickley's books about the paranormal but he has a annoying habit of repeatedly using repetitive phrases, repetitive explanations for why the churches, sacred places are haunted.
Evey time a narrow-minded, cynical, unimaginative, non-believer that is a sceptic tries to supposedly “rationally explain” inexplicable paranormal activity their so-called explanations always seem weak and they never fully explain what various people have encountered, experienced that defies explanation due to it being paranormal. Various things aren't fully explained such why someone suddenly feels like they are being watched, or they are hearing spirits speaking either directly or indirectly to them, seeinh shadow people, fully apparitions, anguished vengeful spirits that could be potentially harmful, or encountering entities, demons, elementals that aren't human, they are interdimensional beings that exist in various realms and they travel through portals.
The author doesn't take into consideration what the land was originally used for, he doesn't seem to think or believe that the land itself could be cursed, it's imbued with a lot of energy, bloodshed, war, battles, massacres, witch hunts for centuries.
There maybe leylines within the earth, there maybe high levels of electromagnetic energy (this type of energy, gives you the creepy, eerie feeling of feeling the presence of a spirit around you, but other expkanations would be intuition, psychic/intuitive abilities, sensitivity to the presence/energy of spirits and spiritual discernment) and there may also be portals in or around the churches.
Obviously I don't blindly believe that everything is automatically paranormal, some things can be debunked but that doesn't mean that what a person has encountered or experienced is automatically invalid, not believable either.
Some people have a stronger intuition, a stronger sensitivity a stronger spiritual discernment of various types of spirits, entities, beings, Deities, cryptids that exist within the spiritual & astral realms, but even when some people experience encountering spirits they still deny their existence and are in denial about what they experienced because they don't want to admit that it's real.
Beyond reasonable doubt, mental illness, environmental factors such as high levels of electromagnetic energy, there may be leylines within the earth, portals that may have been opened for various reasons & purposes-sometimes this is related to a elemental which is made of a element of nature-(Earth, air, fire, water) when something within nature has been disturbed, it could piss off a elemental, because some people don't respect Gaia (Mother Nature)
I really hate how Christians historically hated & feared Norse Pagans and they built their Christian church over the Norse Church & the Ancient Temple for the Roman Goddess Diana.
Why did Christians try to attempt to erase the sacred places of worship for Norse and Hellenic Pagans and anything related to the Norse & Greek pantheons?
Why did Christians want to erase, disguise or destroy historically significant Norse & Greek Temples, Churches or sacred places of worship just because they believed their religion was the only religion that mattered?
