This was such a good book, Ky is this sweet, sexy, amazing badass that I instantly loved. The way that he cared for Lilah is the way all men should treat their women.
Most of the time, Delilah had me like this:
BUT...I had to keep reminding myself that she is so fucking brainwashed it's not even funny. The cult was all she knew, and then she gets dumped into this world where her “saviors” proudly display the devil/hades everywhere. When you grow up believing that the devil is inside you, that's not something you will overcome overnight. By the end of the novel, I had a lot of love for Delilah. Yeah, she was crazy but who wouldn't be if they were in her shoes?
One of my favorite and most fucked up parts of the novel were when Tiff & Jules attacked Lilah. It made me so mad and I was so disgusted by those bitches, but when Ky came in HOT DAMN! I was just sitting there like:
Those bitches got what they deserved.
All in all it was a great book, the only thing keeping me from that 5th star was that I couldn't connect with Lilah as well as I had with Mae. The Author did an amazing job on this one & I'm so excited to read this entire series!
WARNING: This series is not for the faint of heart, the stuff that goes down at the cult is super fucked up. If you get uneasy reading about dark, taboo things I would probably stay away from this series. Also, this book could definitely trigger someone who has had a similar experience. It is very detailed and can paint a very vivid picture in your mind.
