4.25 stars Well, this is a surprise. After reading some reviews, I thought I really wouldn't like this book, but as it turns out, Her Hometown Girl is definitely my favourite in the ‘Belladonna Ink' series and one of the best romances I've read (not that I have read a lot, but I'm trying!). It's got a good balance of angst and romance which I absolutely love hah. Tansy's anxiety doesn't magically disappear just because she's in a new relationship and I appreciated that very much. I hate when authors use love as a fix-it. The characters are likeable, they have great chemistry and the sex scenes aren't cringy. I did find the ending to be a little rushed; I wouldn't have minded a few more chapters.Tropes: Instalove(ish), age-gap between MCs (25 and 39). This book also has light BDSM undertones (dom/sub - daddy kink). It's not my thing, but I wasn't too bothered by it. It's very minimal.Trigger warnings for: Emotional abuse (by an ex), past sexual assault/non-con, PTSD, grief.
