I'm a bit disappointed. I was really looking forward to this book because I loved the second part in the series, but, unfortunately, this reminded me more of the first one.
I just cannot praise Confessions enough with its wonderfully written characters, the serious issues it dives into and depicts pretty well, as well as the lighter tone it's still able to maintain throughout the difficulties.

However, Redemption felt like another episode of Sweet Valley High. The characters, apart from an introvert trait here and a terrible childhood there, were pretty much two dimensional, and I really wasn't into the mystery, particularly when it turned out to be quite unremarkable. And, excuse my colorful language, but WTAF was that ending? Talk about an anticlimax.

I really felt for Cassidy, especially since I had a similar childhood, and her diary entries were kind of the sad highlights of the book, but overall I cannot say I was pleased with the final chapter of the Hickville series.

Redemption is a quick, light read, but if you're looking for a brilliant one, go for Confessions. It works as a standalone too, if you couldn't be arsed with the others.
