I remembered really liking Servants of the Storm. Here is my review:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/800912918Sadly, this review is going to sound like deja vu. The premise of Hit is great. The setup is kind of weird in that the rest of the world is out of the loop so the assassins can get a head start. There is waaaay too much male stepping in at the last minute to save the main character going on. I suspect most of the meh reviews are about the ending- which I agree did not make much sense and would have meant more if it happened earlier in the story. I still don't understand why all of the “hits” were connected to Patsy personally or, for that matter, why assassins would be hunting where they lived around neighbors who might recognize them anyway- there is a lot about the banks I don't understand. For example, won't the banks end up with a clientele made up of solely debt-free murderers? Whatever, I'm jaded because of books like [b:Scorch 1385237 Scorch A.D. Nauman https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1348899056s/1385237.jpg 1375274]Scorch and [b:Feed 169756 Feed M.T. Anderson https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1327891005s/169756.jpg 163928]Feed. I went along for the ride, and enjoyed the hell out of it from a hammock. There are some profound lines in the novel that reflect where we are as a culture “why does it cost more to die from cancer.....” I would have liked to see more introspection, but hey.Overall, it's a good read. The story goes there (Patsy does not flounder), it stalls out with late night make out sessions. I predict Wyatt and Patsy are half brother and sister, so... ew. but I haven't figured out how Jack Cannon fits into the story yet I also predict that the second book in the series is probably going to be the book everyone was expecting this one to be (the resistance).
