Hour of the Zombie, Vol. 1

It's zombies, so I'll read the next one. I hope to get some creep out of it eventually. Right now, mostly standard stuff, if you've read the Resident Evil manga or HotD or a host of other high school horror manga. Nothing new with the characters or the action or the relationships so far. There's even a bad kid, kinda like that awful yet tragic middle schooler early on in ‘Gantz.' The one thing of interest is that the film geek notes that early zombie movies likened zombie-ism to rabies, and the zombie-ism of this follows course. The zombie teens chase and eat their classmates, but suddenly regain lucidity for a brief period before they revert again. It builds up a lovely tension between the unbitten humans and the zombified humans. I want to see more of that, and the manga hints that there will be, so it has potential to become something good. We'll see.
