Humans are relational beings. This is the best self-improvement book to know how to create meaningful and fruitful relationships.

This classic offers great advice for befriending and influencing others, but makes excessive use of anecdotes to demonstrate the points ad nauseam. As another reviewer mentioned, it's also not necessarily a good idea to be a people-pleaser all the time. The book could have benefitted from a discussion of when it can be useful to apply the strategies within, and when it may be advisable to not bother.
there are definitely some really good tips in here: remember and use people's first names, don't be conservative with giving compliments, show interest in what other people are interested in, etc
but, as you might expect from reading the title, a lot of this book comes off as “How to Manipulate People 101”, which sort of left a bad taste in my mouth
This book was helpful, but could have been 800x shorter.
