Wow! I don't know what to say. This was so good. It is hard to call it one specific thing. There is a creeping dread throughout the first part of the book. You know something bad is coming and I didn't want to get to it because I loved Genie so much. On paper, some of the crazy things that happen seem like they would be too over the top to make the book good. However, the characters are drawn so well that the actions are believable for the most part. There were a couple small things that seemed a little too convenient. But that is easily overlooked because the rest is so good. There is action, violence, anxiety, creativity, and more. There is so much packed into this book. I can't wait to read more by this author.
