This book is 100% a silly goofy time and I was 100% here for it.
Genuinely giggling to myself the ENTIRE time. It was half cozy fantasy and half litrpg nonsense but it was such a delightful time. It managed to be very lighthearted and funny while also tackling the serious topics of how Henrietta's parents treated her and the lasting effects it had on her life. I think the author depicted her PTSD very well when it was brought up.
But it was also unabashedly silly. I can appreciate when a book knows and shows that it's just here to show you a good time and that it doesn't have to be any deeper than that. This book has every silly convention you can think of from MMOs/litrpgs and even a few more thrown in. It's honestly the perfect blend of genuine fantasy and a video game I would probably throw at least 100 hours into. I loved every bit of it.
Will definitely be giving the second book a shot!
