From a patron's missing wetsuit to the scent of crab cakes wafting through the stacks, Sheridan showcases the oddities that have come across her circulation desk: encounters with local eccentrics; bizarre reference requests; and heart-warming stories of patrons who roam the stacks every day.

Hilarious, quick read. Loved every page. Reminded me of my own years working at HDL, and the anecdotes have great parallels to my current job at a help desk. Always something different/quirky/annoying/crazy going on.
Ate this up like candy, occasionally incredibly frustrating, occasionally hilarious, occasionally baffling, occasionally jaw-dropping, occassionally sweet, candy. My time in public libraries was infinitesimal and ancient but anyone who's spent time in customer service can also relate to these experiences. Highly recommend.
