Out of the three TJ Klune books I've read, this is my least favorite. It's essentially a retelling of Pinocchio that feels uneven with forced plot points and, frankly, annoying characters.

It's not that I didn't enjoy the book, it's that I was expecting more. The character growth in his other books is so strong that I felt short changed, but this is still far and above many other writers in his circles.
