Everyone thinks Emmy Dockery is crazy. Obsessed with finding the link between hundreds of unsolved cases, Emmy has taken leave from her job as an FBI researcher. Now all she has are the newspaper clippings that wallpaper her bedroom, and her recurring nightmares of an all-consuming fire. Not even Emmy's ex-boyfriend, field agent Harrison "Books" Bookman, will believe her that hundreds of kidnappings, rapes, and murders are all connected. That is, until Emmy finds a piece of evidence he can't afford to ignore. More murders are reported by the day--and they're all inexplicable. No motives, no murder weapons, no suspects. Could one person really be responsible for these unthinkable crimes?

so I spent My Halloween reading a novel and handing out candy.. not a bad combination. this is a little different from James. I have read many of his books and have enjoyed them all. This one I liked more then I thought I would. Great ending a must read.
Irei considerar este livro um dos melhores que li este ano e talvez dos melhores de sempre.
Os capítulos, alternados entre a investigadora e os detalhes mórbidos do serial killer, são pequenos e fez com que quisesse desvendar o mistério rapidamente.
Engaging quick whodunnit my Dad passed along to me, fastest I've a read a book in a long time. How do you rate a book like this. It was a good read and I liked reading it but the writing style (which is what I typically fall for in a book vs story) was matter of fact and to the point. I feel like 3.5 stars fits.
I will likely read the sequel and maybe some other Patterson books.
Also, first actual paper book I've read in years.
