This started off well then it got real cheese, lovey-dovey the longer I read. To be honest, we never really end up knowing anything about Jag. His past is never really spoken of, he's simply there to serve, love, and care for Savannah while she figures out her life and how to love so we end up knowing everything about her. I felt the author had issues separating herself from Jag because he read as an AA woman in a white man's body.

The cheese is more of a me issue, I had assumed this was a dark romance when it's just a romance with a bit of slow-burning spice. I simply kept reading because the spice was written well and I felt I deserved the erotic reward after putting myself through so much heartfelt love. Not a psychopath in sight.

I didn't hate this, it's just very disjointed and even though it's fiction shit got so beyond belief and rushed. I'm intrigued enough to try book 2 however.

*I got to chapter 7 of book 2 and deleted the entire book off my kindle when the AA woman trapped inside a wm body resurfaced. It's too frustrating to go through 7 books like this. Dnf.
