So beautiful! Story intertwines a young girl's struggle with bullying in school with reading Jane Eyre told through gorgeous panels of pencil drawings and painted panels of illustrations by Isabell Arsenault.
Heart wrenching but with a positive ending. Things do work out. As a survivor of teenage bullying, it doesn't happen overnight, but it does get better and stories like this make it possible to believe you are not alone.
I wanted to like it more than I did. It was decent, and some of the art is nice (particularly the Jane Eyre sections in color). It didn't quite connect for me, and the art style is not really my cup of tea, but it was pretty and thoughtful.
Lovely illustrated book, set in Montréal. A pre-teen, bullied in school, reading Jane Eyre. Some nice scenes all throughout.
Historia ukazująca jak wspaniałą odskocznię od rzeczywistości mogą stanowić książki. Polecam szczególnie fanom Jane Eyre :)
