I never really saw Jem when I was a kid, so I don't have any real nostalgia for the concept. BUT I kept hearing that the comic was awesome so I checked it out, and: it's pretty awesome! VERY fun, awesome characters with awesome, developed friendships (and a star-crossed queer romance)!

I think a lot of tweens and teens would love this (and the content is tween-appropriate–nothing beyond kissing, romance wise) but I think it might be a hard sell, since the cartoon is so old and the movie tanked. But for kids interested in stories about music, or magical girl-type stories, or sweet romance... definitely recommended! (Oh and adults too)
