I want to give a disclaimer to the 2 stars I gave this book. For me it was just “okay”, but I could see it being a decent book to give someone who is more on the outskirts of the faith, someone who hasn't heard the GOOD news about who Jesus is, so in that case I would give it 3 stars. But alas, I did not have the option for a 2 1/2 star rating.
I was annoyed by Smith's attempts to be “relevant” with slang and jargon that I found distracting. At times it felt like he was trying too hard to act like “one of the cool kids”
The “Embrace Grace” chapter was probably my favorite, as Smith talked about the parable of the prodigal son. I like his emphasis on the Father's extravagant grace. This is one message I don't think we can hear too much or too often.
