My mom passed this book onto me. It was quite different from what I expected. It wasn't a typical romance book, but it certainly read more like a chick lit novel. I suppose that struck me as different, but only because Susan Wiggs' books tend to be historical romances in a very obvious way. I found Sarah to be a likable character (though incredibly difficult to imagine physically), and Will to be the all-around, good-hearted American guy. The ending was trite and sweet—almost a little too neat. I did appreciate that Wiggs approached modern topics with humor and understanding, like Facebook and homosexuality.
