Just ducks

Before my jump into looking at ALA Award Books, I had not heard of [b:Just Ducks! 12461718 Just Ducks! I looked in our library and they didn't have it, so I requested it for review because of the award status. I am delighted with it! This is absolutely going to become part of my curricula recommendations. Nicola Davies https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1327948664s/12461718.jpg 17445450] and learn more about these feathered creatures! The illustrations are attractive and pleasing to the eye. The font is beautiful and the font changes in size add to the enthusiasm of story for the learning reader. On each page, in a small size font factual statements are given that add to this being more than just a picture book but an educational blessing in a pretty package. This is a great bedtime book. This is a great field trip in a book, or a preparation for a pond field trip. After reading this book, I discovered that Nicola Davies is a zoologist and she presents her information in a child friendly manner. I'm impressed and very glad to have experienced this and cannot wait to share it with my own students and will definitely look for her other books as well. Thanks to Candlewick Press.
