Kept

Silas is my favorite character in this series. He is Drake's enforcer who can intimidate Drake's other men who refer to each other as brothers by choice. He sees himself as a monster/killer and keeps himself secure behind his locks and monitors when at home alone. He's endured a horrendous childhood growing up and is surprised at the unfamiliar emotions that comes when he sees Hayley Winthrop when she is asking about an apartment in his building. Hayley is trying to accomplish her late father's wishes to graduate from a prestegious music school with her violin talents, but she is having a hard time making enough money to keep the dream alive. She makes Silas feel things he never thought he'd experience and she brings joy into his life with her music that he hears when she practices in her apartment (frankly I find it unlikely in the real world that playing a musical instrument would be allowed especially at 2 am in an apartment building. )Hayley has a backbone despite her constant tears so she isn't a doormat despite her innocence. Silas may be Drake's baddest of bad asses, but who knew underneath that tough exterior, lies a sweetheart, dominant and controlling , but a sweetheart nevertheless when it comes to Hayley.
