New York Times bestselling author Nalini Singh’s exhilarating world of shapeshifters and psychics is “paranormal romance at its best” (Publishers Weekly). Now comes the story of an alpha wolf named Hawke used to getting exactly what he wants–and of the only woman who dares tangle with him.
Since the moment of her defection from the PsyNet and into the SnowDancer wolf pack, Sienna Lauren has had one weakness. Hawke. Alpha and dangerous, he compels her to madness.
Hawke is used to walking alone, having lost the woman who would’ve been his mate long ago. But Sienna fascinates the primal heart of him, even as he tells himself she is far too young to handle the wild fury of the wolf.
Then Sienna changes the rules and suddenly, there is no more distance, only the most intimate of battles between two people who were never meant to meet. Yet as they strip away each other’s secrets in a storm of raw emotion, they must also ready themselves for a far more vicious fight…
A deadly enemy is out to destroy SnowDancer, striking at everything they hold dear, but it is Sienna’s darkest secret that may yet savage the pack that is her home…and the alpha who is its heartbeat…

I loved this story of Hawke and Sienna. The added story of Walker and Lara was good too.
I was so excited to start this book. I had been waiting for Hawke's story since.... well, since the end of book one haha.
So, this is about Hawke and Sienna BUT, also about Lara and Walker which I absolutely loved. I'm so glad we got two different romances in here and FINALLY one where things weren't complicated. I understand things need to be complicated to make a story so, having this one on the side with only a little drama was nice.
As for Hawke and Sienna, the beginning of the book had me almost disliking Hawke, even though is one of my favorite characters. He was so wishy-washy yet tried to appear like he wasn't changing... but he was. And then he'd be mad with her and... sigh until they started kinda dating I was confused with him.
Now, I'm confused with the mating thing. Because what exactly does it mean? Everyone has one mate... so, they just won't love the other as much? Because Hawke has liked Sienna pretty much as soon as he saw her from what I can tell and he loves her now... so, what is the problem? And then anyone can have a mating bond?? I wish it was more explained because Hawke and Sienna are mated now but, they aren't fated mates. They have the bond and the psychic connection -- everything the other couples have but, they shouldn't actually be together... So, I'm confused
As a side note... the cover ugh THE COVER!!! He looks nothing like Hawke so why is he on it? “Well, everyone's idea of what the characters might be are different.”
Yes, I agree BUT, Hawke is supposed to have ice blue eyes and silver-gold hair...
Why 4 stars? Because I still like Hawke and I think he and Sienna are a good couple. I enjoyed reading this and hated to put it down. Looking forward to being able to read the next installment.
