I didn't think I would like this book as much as I did. They say not to judge a book by its cover, but... we all do it anyway, don't we?
When my book club chose it for our December read, I thought Last Christmas in Paris was going to be mediocre and poorly researched, as most “historical romances” I have read have been. But instead it was extremely well written, researched, and edited. I didn't roll my eyes once at the romance, either, which amazed me. I laughed and teared up with the characters, and learned a lot about WWI along the way.
I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good book to read around the holidays that is not cheesy or meh. It was a pleasant surprise!
