Very inspiring story but could have used an editor (can't argue with a Pulitzer-Prize winning author when it comes to writing about his own son, I guess) to cut about 100 pages out.
All of those GR reviewers who are mad at Ron Suskind because he has so much money to spend on his son's care - what would you want him to do? Not spend it? It's true that 99% of families who have a child with autism would not have the same resources as Suskind, but this is his story not theirs. Towards the end Suskind mentions that he and his wife have become advocates for other families and for increased public funding; probably would have helped to include some examples to mollify the reader resentment.
I saw the documentary that was based on the book; the movie leaves out a lot but brings the Disney sections to life. Highly recommended as well.
