The book offers some handy methods for responding to readings, the most notable of which are the Topoi, tagmemics, and the Toulmin method. Probably these kinds of methods could not be found in any other guides to reading and writing.

Unfortunately, it almost always get complicated and overly repetitive, the third part about narrative especially so. It could be squeezed down to one lengthy reading which could be read in one sitting.
