Live Bait

Live Bait

2005 • 350 pages

The narrative was just too straightforward and boring for my liking, the banter was again, not my personal brand and kept taking me out of the story.
It almost felt YA to me and it's just not the type of books i enjoy anymore.
And maybe this is because I haven't read the first book in this series but why are there SO DAMN MANY CHARACTERS? AND THEY ALL SOUND THE SAME?! I completely lost track of who was who within the first 50 pages and had to write it down to not get confused.
And the characters themselves were very one dimensional and lacked any depth at all.
The mystery in itself was pretty obvious, and I was not a fan of the writing style.

Also I have to mention i feel very read-baited by the cover. I was expecting something more gory and creepy but I should've looked into the story, but again I like to go in blind with my books and so I feel very disappointed about that too.
